On the basis of summarizing the formation and development of the permanent Court of Arbitration – La Haye International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands, the author did some analyses to clarify the Court's role as one of the international bodies regarding dispute settlement which was established the earliest in the history of the modern world. In addition, the in-depth analysis of the issues to which Vietnam pays attention such as order, settlement procedures, legal evidence for which Vietnam should prepare, the advantages and limitations of the permanent Court of Arbitration – the Hague, etc. generalized the fundamental aspects to serve as a basis for reference in selection of international tribunals to settle East Sea sovereignty dispute of Viet Nam.
