Cai Nuoc shows the area for shrimp hatching of 31,626 ha (99.4%), the third largest in the output of shrimp in the whole province. There are 11 sites of collecting samples from 3 patterns: traditional extensive hatching, improved extensive hatching, and industrial shrimp hatching in February, April, May, June and July of 2010. The analysis of 18 standards reflects the actual state of pond environment. The possible conclusions about the pollutant loads emerging from shrimp hatching are: Shrimp hatching in traditional extensive pattern causes the largest pollutant load; The loads of some pollutants in 2009 and 2010, respectively, are: SS – 149,512 tons và 143,212 tons, BOD5 – 6,896 tons và 6,606 tons, COD – 14,222 tons và 13,650 tons, T3ng N – 2,158 tons và 2,086 tons, T3ng P – 1,159 tons và 1,129 tons. This research contributes positively to the database in shrimp hatching activity in Cai Nuoc District – Ca Mau Province, supporting environmental management in general and aquaculture industry planning in specific.
