The research method as a method of scientific cognition as well as the scientific foundations of optical methods for expert examination of microobjects are considered. The methodological and practical aspects of the systematization of optical methods for studying microobjects are analyzed and their multilevel classification is proposed. The possibilities of individual optical methods for studying microobjects are highlighted.
