The formation and improvement of the teaching staff in China is currently the main task of accelerating the restructuring of the country’s educational system. Teachers of non-state higher education institutions are important participants, promoters and “drivers” of the development of non-state higher education. But teachers of non-state higher education institutions still have serious problems in the field of teaching methods, scientific research, personal growth, etc. All these have become key factors that limit the long-term development of non-state higher education institutions. The article analyzes the difficulties in formation of the teaching staff taking into account its structure and characterizes its current state. Besides, the article considers the factors influencing the stability and career growth of teachers and suggests the corresponding measures for stabilization and improvement of the teaching staff of the non-state universities from the point of view of the state policy support, adaptation of the system of the universities’ management and teachers’ self-development.
