The article refutes the traditional view that in Pushkin’s era the poetics of genres was replaced by the poetics of stable styles. The genre certainty, characteristic for the early lyrical works of the leading poets of the time, is described. It is demonstrated that the phenomenon often identifi ed as the blending or the diffusion of lyrical poetry genres in the 1820s and 1830s is a complex genre orchestration based on a clearcut differentiation of genres.
