On the question of the authorship of the second volume of St. Isaac the Syrian

Цитирование «второго тома» творений Исаака Сирина, со стороны его младшего современника Иосифа Хаззайи дает дополнительное эксплицитное указание на принадлежность второго собрания перу упоминаемого и цитируемого у него «мар Исхака». The authors of this publication offer a translation and an analysis of some quotations from the works of Venerable Isaac the Syrian, found in the works of the VIII century East Syrian mystic Joseph Hazzaya. The citations of the “the second volume” of the works of Isaac the Syrian, by his younger contemporary Joseph Hazzaya provides an additional explicit indication that the second volume should be attributed to the mentioned and cited “mar Ishaq”. According to the authors’ conclusion, the fact that mar Joseph, being a great systematizer of the East Syrian mystical tradition, shows the involvement of the “Chapters on knowledge” of “mar Ishaq” in this very tradition, is extremely important for solving the second tome’s authorship question in favour of St. Isaac the Syrian.
