The article deals with certain aspects of the use of special knowledge of certain specialists in the course of investigative (search) actions. Theere is the analysis of criminal procedural and other legislative norms, and the critical attitude to reformation processes concerning delimitation and opinion of leading scholars concerning it has been expressed. Procedural actions that require the involvement of forensic specialists have been indicated, in particular: investigative examination, search, investigative experiment.
