The specifics of the transition zones of oil pools underlying the source rocks were determined on the basis of the secondary migration mechanisms analysis. The determined features permitted to explain different oil saturation coefficients and a different degree of the production water cut at equal height above the the free water table and equal porosity and permeability characteristics of the reservoir, which earlier was not possible in view of the capillarygravitational theory.
