The article gives a review of the literature studying suicide and causing him depressive disorders in different countries of the world. Studies conducted among different population groups living in different areas (rural and urban), studied adolescents, the elderly people, the older population. It is shown that depression are of great medical and social importance. Statistically more often depressive disorders and suicidal tendencies are detected in women of all age groups. Highlights stressful factors leading to the development of depressive disorders in rural areas.
