This article is devoted to an examination of the informative and influencing function of messages in the German media. The influencing function in the coverage of political events is implemented due to the brightness, imagery, emotionality of the information reported, which is provided through the use of various linguistic means such as metaphors, comparisons, irony, familiar colloquial vocabulary, neologisms, phraseological units, complex composites.
