The methodology proposed by Boris I. Marshak for the study of stamped Central Asian terracotta can be used in the absence of materials by genetic series. The analysis of a terracotta from Saryktepe (Southern Sogdiana) revealed its artistic prototype, viz. “The Twin Miracle” in Śrāvastī — the subject that was popular in the iconography of Gandhara.
