In March of 1931, the archaeologist Nikolay I. Repnikov was arrested. The causes and circumstances of his detention have been unknown for many years. The judicial inquiry is here described basing on the rather not easily accessible documents from the Archives of the Russian FSB of the city of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast. Records of the interrogations of the scholar are presented and information on the organisation and activities of the Eski-Kermen expedition is published.
