The article publishes material of the explorations conducted in 2015 and 2018 at the Chatr-Tav mountain-ridge 2 km west to a site of ancient town Kytaion (south-east of the Kerch peninsula). Topographical survey carried out at the chain of hills revealed six burial mounds, which were put on the plan. There were many burglarious holes in all the mounds. As a result of an archaeological reinvestigation of a hillock no. 5 at the highest point of the easternmost tip of the chain of hills a giant tomb composed of blocks and slabs of limestone was found under a burglarious heap. Few finds allow dating the tomb to the second-third quarters of the 5th century BC. There are a few signs of a secondary use of the tomb in Roman times.
