The paper proposes and describes a method for PCR diagnostics of bovine immunodeficien-cy virus. The study included the selection of primers for PCR to detect BIV, optimization of con-centration and temperature-time conditions for PCR diagnostics of cattle immunodeficiency pro-virus, screening of cattle, and studying the features of BIV distribution. Based on the results of the presented study, primers for PCR diagnostics of BIV were selected and synthesized. Optimal con-ditions for PCR diagnostics of the virus were determined. 157 cattle were screened. 101 animals infected with VBI were identified. The wide prevalence of the virus in the territory of the Bryansk region was determined.
