The paper describes a procedure for determining operational reliability of a linear electric drive in the grain cleaning machine. The technique was based on the existing theory of reliability using the Microsoft Excel (ME) computer program. The grain cleaning machine operation was observed and the data were presented in line with the national standard GOST 24055-2016. Agricultural machinery. Methods of operational and technological assessment. The number of failures for the time interval and the number of failures for the entire operational period of the grain cleaning machine were revealed. The empirical probability of failures for the midpoint of the interval was calculated, the empirical reliability function was determined using graphs describing the probability of failure-free operation plotted in the ME program. Periods of failures and emergency failures of the separate components and the machine were predicted. Thanks to the procedure negative consequences, emergency cases could be prevented thereby reducing economic losses and increasing the lifespan of the machine.
