In this work, the implementation of Digital Holographic Microscopy for detection of microorganisms in blood isproposed. Some hemoparasites, like Filaria and Trypanosoma Cruzi, can be identified in blood samples by theirmovement, which is oscillatory and propagates throughout the sample. Particularly, this behavior is consideredfor the T. Cruzi parasite movement characterization. By comparing two consecutive holograms, a final image ofthe vision field in which the parasite presence becomes evident is attained. The experimental set-up design forDigital Holographic Microscopy implementation is described and a discussion about the influence of theparameters required for holographic image quality is presented. The results obtained by different numericalreconstruction methods are compared.
