«Kyiv Art Meeting» is the first major international exhibition initiative with the participation of Ukrainian artists to be heldin independent Ukraine. The events that unfolded around her made her part not so much artistic as social and political realities of life, testifying to the existence of a deep divide between them. Describing them, the article draws on extensive factual material and documentary evidence that has hitherto been out of the artistic research.
