"Methodological principles and approaches to the analysis of I.S.Tourgenev's creative works that are realized within historical and literary attempts of Brusov are reviewed through the context of literature development in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The researcher poet’s reflexion on scientific interpretations of various phenomena of Russian classical literature allows to ascertain his attitude towards realism and symbolism, clarifies the idea of crucial problems of his aesthetics."
