The article is devoted to the history of the collection of the Museum and Archive of the Jewish Historical and Ethnographic Society (St. Petersburg, 1908–1930) in the period after October 1917 until the early 1990s.On the basis of a significant number of archival documents stored in different countries of Europe and the United States, published sources and scientific research,the author reveals historical events related to thecollections, reconstructs the composition and content of the collections, and the futureof the museum and archival collections, if possible.
