The article is devoted to the fundamental academic work «Liberation of Bulgaria from the Turkish yoke» (Vol. I-III. Moscow, 1961-1967) consisting of three volumes of documents and other materials. The work was arranged by members of the Institute of Slavic studies and USSR archive workers in collaboration with Bulgarian historians and archivists within the framework of international scienti c cooperation. The author considers the contents of this three volume work and pays special attention to the contribution made by historians specialising in the history of the Russo-Turkish war of 1877-1878 and «Liberation of Bulgaria» working on the edition.
