Torsion of the non‐pregnant uterus is rarely seen in the human. Most reports in the literature concern pathologic (rotation exceeding 45 o ) torsion of the pregnant uterus (1, 2). Fibroma of the uterus is found in a great number of these cases (3). Abdominal pain is the major symptom and diagnosis is generally established at an inevitable laparotomy. In the present case a torsion of the uterus was evident preoperatively by abdominal X‐ray examination.
