Well known complications of laparoscopy are bleeding, infection, subcutaneous emphysema, and penetration of the viscera (3). Herniation of the small bowel through the fascial defect created at laparoscopy is a rare complication. Unique features of the present report are that symptoms began within hours of laparoscopy, and that bowel perforation occurred.
