. Twelve patients with missed abortion or fetal death were induced by the extra‐amniotic instillation of Rivanol (6.9‐diamino‐2‐oxyethylacridin lactate). Delivery was achieved in all patients with a mean induction‐delivery time of 15.3 hours (range 7.1‐21.7). There were no complications or side‐effects. It is concluded that extra‐amniotic instillation of Rivanol is a safe and efficient method for induction of labor in missed abortion and fetal death.
