. Patients with Stage III ovarian carcinoma were treated either with extensive initial surgery and postoperative radiation therapy (17 patients) or with a less extensive initial laparotomy, postoperative radiation therapy and relaparotomy (19 patients). Better results were obtained among the patients in the latter group.
