. A retrospective examination has been made of 530 transabdominal isthmic amniocenteses performed on 231 Rh‐immunized women in the period from 1969 to 1973. Technique and complications are described. This study indicates the advantage of a transisthmic approach which offers a minimum risk for the fetus and a greater success in carrying out the procedure.
