The article is devoted to the study of the ethno-cultural specifics of ideological aggression manifested in the anti- Chinese confrontational rhetoric of the mass media of the United States and the countries of the collective West. The author focuses on the functional role of emotional-evaluative vocabulary, stereotypes, labels actualized in media texts and discursive practices of information and psychological warfare as verbal markers of extrapolation of systems of ideas and behavioral attitudes. In the course of linguistic analysis of empirical material, the manifestation of the ethno-cultural specificity of the linguistic consciousness of representatives of Chinese and English linguistic cultures, ways of representing social actors in the media discourse is considered. The conclusions obtained by the author indicate the formation in the Western media discourse of strategies for the complex application of verbal means of extrapolation of ideological aggression, forming the emotional and pragmatic assessments required by the actor under the influence of predetermined communicative attitudes.
