With the development of modern information technologies, conditions have been created for the rapid dissemination of information. This has led to the expansion of international contacts and intensive intercultural communication. The need for adequate and equivalent translation has increased dramatically. However, when comparing mother tongues and foreign languages, the interpreter often encounters the phenomenon of interlanguage interference – the invasion of the norms of one language system on the boundaries of another, which negatively affects the quality of the translation. Two language systems are identified or mixed, resulting in speech errors at all levels of the foreign language. Studying the errors of Russian-speaking translators in English at the levels of phonetics, grammar and vocabulary allows not only to learn about them, but also predict the possible places of their manifestation, which will undoubtedly help to improve the quality of translation.
