The paper addresses useful linguistic resources that are freely accessible online and should be paid attention to when considering norm variants in local and global Englishes. A number of popular dictionaries and corpora of contemporary English and Englishes are reviewed. The inclusion of Englishes and information about English norm and standards in the resources is analyzed. The words and phrases handphone, data and big data are given as examples. The paper concludes that comprehensive use of online resources is needed when considering norm variants.
