The article presents the results of research into the mechanisms of occurrence and functioning of the imagery of perception as the central category of imagopoetics. The authors note problems in the methodological equipment of the domestic literary imagology: lack of understanding of the need for interdisciplinary practice of literary and ethnopsychological analysis and a descriptive approach to the criteria and categories of imagopoetics.
