The article is devoted to the problem of correcting mistakes in a foreign language teaching at a nonlinguistic university. The article examines various points of view on the problem of error correction, and also on the basis of the analysis of the methodological experience of teachers of the Far Eastern State Transport University, the most effective correction methods are identified, which are based on the student's incentive to acknowledge the error and correct it independently.
