Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan (1) kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti, (2)  kemampuan menulis dongeng melalui strategi reproduksi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti, (3) hubungan kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan kemampuan menulis dongeng melalui trategi reproduksi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskirptif. Populasi dan sampel peneitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti. Cara pengambilan sampel yaitu dengan teknik propotional random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 35 orang. Data penelitian ini berupa hasil tes objektif berbentuk pilihan ganda untuk tes pemahaman. Data menulis dongeng siswa diperoleh dengan melakukan tes unjuk kerja. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan hal-hal berikut. Pertama, kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti secara umum tergolong lebih dari cukup karena M-nya berada pada tingkat penguasaan 66—75% dengan rata-rata 67,65. Kedua, kemampuan menulis dongeng melalui strategi reproduksi siswa secara umum  tergolong cukup karena M-nya berada pada tingkat penguasaan  56—65% dengan rata-rata 65,25. Ketiga, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan membaca pemahaman dan kemampuan menulis dongeng melalui strategi reproduksi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa nilai r hitung lebih besar dari r tabel (6,72 2,042).Kata Kunci: membaca pemahaman, menulis karangan narasi, strategi reproduksiAbstract. The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the ability to read comprehension of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti, (2) the ability to write stories through the reproduction strategy of VII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti, (3) the relationship between reading comprehension ability and the ability to write fairy tales through reproductive strategies Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti. This type of research is quantitative research using descriptive methods. The population and sample of this research are VII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti. The method of taking samples is using the propotional random sampling technique with a sample size of 35 people. This research data is in the form of objective test results in the form of multiple choice for understanding tests. The students' writing fairy tale data were obtained by conducting a performance test. Based on the results of the study, the following matters were concluded. First, the ability to read comprehension of grade VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti in general is classified as more than sufficient because the M is at a mastery level of 66-75% with an average of 67.65. Secondly, the ability to write fairy tales through students' reproductive strategies is generally quite sufficient because the M is at a mastery level of 56-65% with an average of 65.25. Third, there is a significant relationship between the ability to read comprehension and the ability to write fairy tales through the reproduction strategy of VII grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Linggo Sari Baganti. Hypothesis testing results indicate that the calculated r value is greater than r table (6.72 2.042).Keywords: reading comprehension, writing narrative essay, reproductive strategy
