Thisarticle presents a clinical case of pulmonary embolism after splenectomy in a patient who suered an auto injury. Whenthe spleen is removed, reactive thrombocytosis occurs, which is the main risk factor for thromboembolic complications. It showsthe options for the diagnosis of thromboembolism and describes the tactics assignment of antiplatelet drugs. The preventiveadministration of antiplatelet drugs depending on the severity of thrombocytosis in the postoperative period is discussed.
