Many recent empirical studies on comparative growth focus onthe supply side determinants of growth. This paper highlights theinsights to be gained from employing a demand-determined growth model. Amodelling framework along the Social Accounting Matrix, empiricallyanalysed for a group of sixteen countries at different stages ofeconomic development, gives support to the convergencethesis.
