The article analyzes the socio-political situation in the country, which requires the definition of priority mechanisms of state response to achieve results with the establishment of peace in Ukraine. The urgency of the study is determined by the need to resolve the problems of the armed conflict in the Donbass and the needs of the conciliatory positions of government and society, creating the preconditions for an effective negotiation process. The purpose of the study is to analyze possible scenarios in the east of Ukraine in modern conditions and to develop optimal mechanisms for resolving the conflict on legislative, economic, military, diplomatic, social and humanitarian grounds. At the same time, Ukraine’s national security system is constantly being transformed and updated in line with new threats and therefore requires constant analysis and study at both the scientific and state levels.
