The problem raised in this study is that there is communication on WhatsApp social media which has many different opinions between students and others . In addition, students may use words and sentences that are difficult to reach, but in their minds students can already distinguish in their use of language. The aims of this study are (1) todeseribe diction by Indonesian Language Education students at UN PGRI Kediri in the use of social media WhatsApp, Describe the use of sentences by Indonesian Language Education students in the use of social media WhatsApp. This research is a qualitative descriptive with a syntactic approach. This research data is qualitative data in the form of WhatsApp conversation analysis with the primary data source in the form of WhatsApp conversation results. The subjects in this study were Level III students of Indonesian Languarze Education in the 2018/2019 academic year. The data analysis technique of this research is using coding,. The results of the study can be concluded that (1) the form of using diction in conversations on WhatsApp social media (2) the form of usinu sentences in conversations on WhatsApp social media (3) the formof writing sentences in conversations on WhatsApp social media.
