No presente artigo, procuramos refletir sobre a Gaudium et spes, por ocasião de seu 50º aniversário. O texto parte do resgate da gênese da Constituição e esclarece a originalidade do documento – uma constituição pastoral. Relaciona esta Constituição à Lumen gentium. Define a noção de mundo presente no texto. A última parte defende a importância da inserção da Igreja no mundo.Abstract: In this article we seek to reflect on Gaudium et spes on the occasion of its 50th anniversary. The text part from genesis of the Constitution and explains the originality of the document – a Pastoral Constitution. It relates to the Constitution and the Lumen gentium. It defines the notion of the present world in the Gaudium et spes. The last part defends the importance of the Church in the world.Keywords: Church. World. Vatican II. Gaudium et spes. Ecclesiology.
