Teologia e gênero: A docência feminina em instituições católicas

O presente trabalho evidencia o quadro atual da docência feminina nos cursos de graduação em teologia, bem como as condições postas que reproduzem a desigualdade de gênero, nesse campo do saber. A pesquisa foi baseada nos dados coletados por meio de um questionário enviado às instituições católicas de teologia e no Censo/2005 do INEP, sobre o ensino superior. Os resultados evidenciam uma participação reduzida de mulheres com índices elevados de desigualdade nos quadros da docência que, em parte, se deve às práticas culturais e institucionais reproduzidas e legitimadas por uma ordem simbólica androcêntrica, que tem sido hegemônica no espaço teológico. Entretanto, considera-se que apesar da presença feminina ser reduzida, ela é também significativa, uma vez que as mulheres começam a se constituir em sujeitos de saber e de poder em um lugar que, historicamente, foi reduto do sujeito masculino.Abstract: The present work shows the current situation of female teachers at the undergraduate courses in Theology, as well as the conditions that reproduce gender inequality in this field of knowledge. The research was based on the data collected through a questionnaire sent to the Catholic Institutions of Theology and on the 2005 INEP Census on Higher Education. Findings show a limited participation of women and high indexes of inequality in the teaching staff something that is partially due to the cultural and institutional practices that are reproduced and legitimated by an androcentric symbolical order that has been hegemonic in the theological space. However, we believe that, in spite of its limited numbers, the female presence is also significant in so far as the women are starting to become subjects of knowledge and of power in a place that has been traditionally a stronghold of the male subject.
