An examination of issues related to reading in free time, in classrooms and in school libraries with young people ages 12 – 16 +, with particular attention to teen age boys. It concentrates on implementation strategies that have been effective, and which can be used by both teachers and teacher-librarians to integrate the Reading (Literary & Cultural Appreciation) component of SLIS into the regular curriculum activities in the classroom and across the school programs. Opportunities will be provided for group participation, through discussion and through sharing of ideas that have been successful in local areas.
