Since investment in the oil and gas business entails high risk, there is broad range of matters to be considered before investing in an oil or gas drilling fund. This paper discusses range of such factors, including types of drilling fund opportunities; fund objectives and the interaction of risk and return; how to calculate the economics of drilling prospect; fund management; and tax implications.
