In the article such aspects of the topic as the need to search for energy efficiency increase from the point of view of new theoretical and methodological positions, the presentation of the energy theory of the firm, the energy that has the properties of the product and the goods, the rational behavior of the manager of the company in the sphere of energy consumption are based. Attention is also drawn to the methodology of accounting VUCA, asymmetric information in the behavior of the manager, outlined the external institutional factors affecting the manager's efficiency in the field of energy conservation.
