The presented article is devoted to the study of regional features of small business development in Russia. The author determines the causes of this phenomenon and its scale. At the same time, special emphasis is placed on the study of the level of employment of the population in small business and revenue per employee in various regions. Also, the role of the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the development of business entities in the regions is determined.
