This report describes the Proof of Concept (POC) activities undertaken in the Swedish Food Agency (SLV) to explore the feasibility of implementing automated data connection between EFSA and a Member State data system. It provides insight into the possibilities and challenges as well as recommendations regarding priority artificial intelligence services development to enable digitalisation and automation of data sharing and interoperable connectivity. This project was undertaken specifically in the context of mandatory member state data reporting to the EU through EFSA data systems but has also been framed with a wider future applicability in mind which would include the sharing of relevant data within EFSA’s remit from any data providers.
