The conclusions of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) following the peer review of the initial risk assessments carried out by the competent authority of the rapporteur Member State Germany, for the pesticide active substance fenpyroximate are reported. The context of the peer review was that required by Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009 following an application for amendment to the conditions of approval and as requested by the European Commission following the submission and evaluation of confirmatory data. The conclusions were reached on the basis of the evaluation of the representative uses of fenpyroximate as an acaricide and insecticide on grapes, apples, pears and beans. The reliable endpoints concluded as being appropriate for use in regulatory risk assessment, derived from the available studies and literature in the dossier peer reviewed, are presented. Missing information identified as being required by the regulatory framework is listed. Concerns are identified that the worker exposure, consumer dietary risk assessment and assessment of the risk to terrestrial vertebrates and aquatic organisms following biomagnification in aquatic food chains could not be finalised. There is a critical area of concern that there is potential for exceedence of the acute reference dose by consumers consequent to the uses on pome fruit.
