This scientific opinion of EFSA deals with the risk assessment of the additive 3,9‐bis[2‐(3‐(3‐tert‐butyl‐4‐hydroxy‐5‐methylphenyl)propionyloxy)‐1, 1‐dimethylethyl]‐2, 4,8,10‐tetraoxaspiro[5,5]undecane (CAS No 90498‐90‐1, REF. No 38565, FCM substance No 858) intended to be used as stabilizer at a maximum content of 50 mg/kg polyolefins for contact with all kind of foodstuffs for short term contact at high temperatures and long term storage at/or below room temperature.
