The topic of the report is the study of ancient artifacts by the method of Yu.L. Shchapova. The grouping of artifacts using statistical methods is preceded by the study of the features that describe these artifacts. Description is understood as an information-rich system. Generalized features are chosen, for example, a set of constructive elements (a part of a thing, distinguished morphologically). As an example, two studies of the author are cited based on the proposed methodology.
