Este artigo corrobora a existência de monção em São Paulo, revelada a partir da observação de flutuações periódicas na umidade absoluta. O ciclo diário e o ciclo sazonal registrado em duas localidades nos extremos oriental e ocidental de São Paulo são comparados e analisados. A incorporação da direção do vento à análise sugere a existência de um regime de monção, cuja transição entre a estação úmida e a estação seca é definida pela variação da umidade absoluta. Monsoon in São Paulo State, BrazilA B S T R A C TThis paper corroborates the existence of monsoon in São Paulo, revealed from the observation of periodic fluctuations in absolute humidity. The daily cycle and the seasonal cycle recorded in two sites in the eastern and western extremes of São Paulo are compared and analyzed. The incorporation of the wind direction to the analysis suggests the existence of a monsoon regime, whose transition between the wet season and the dry season is defined by the variation of the absolute humidity.Keywords: Monsoon, Absolute humidity, Wind direction.
