Supported Employment is based on the idea that all people with disabilities have potential for immediate inclusion in real work settings with their non-disabled peers. This paper describes the context in which Supported Employment conceptualized articulates its defining characteristics and emmines the emerging issues with respect to its current status and future application in New Zealand.
