Genuineness, the condition of sincerity in behaving as one’sunadulterated self, is a concept that is inherently congruentwith inviting behavior yet is not directly addressed in the literatureconcerned with Invitational Theory. The author discussesthe concept of genuineness, describes how it fits InvitationalTheory and argues for its inclusion as a fundamentalelement of Invitational Theory.
