Lazer no livro didático de inglês: identidades de classe social

Resumo Considerando que as identidades são construções, formadas na língua, por meio dos discursos (NORTON, 2000); que o livro didático (LD) é figura de autoridade na sala de aula (CORACINI, 1999); e que, em geral, os LDs trazem o lazer como tema de suas unidades (TÍLIO, 2006), neste trabalho temos como objetivo analisar a maneira como a temática lazer no livro didático contribui para a construção de identidades de classe social, naturalizando desigualdades e reforçando a imagem de uma sociedade idealizada e livre de problemas. Palavras-chave: identidades; livro didático; classe social.   Leisure activities in English textbooks: social class identity construction  Abstract Considering that identities are constructions, formed in the language through discourses (NORTON, 20000); that textbooks are figures of authority in the language classroom (CORACINI, 1999) and that, in general, they include ‘leisure activities’ in their units and contents (TÍLIO, 2006), in this article we aim at analyzing how the topic leisure in English textbooks contributes to the construction of social class identities, naturalizing inequalities and reinforcing the image of an idealized, problem-free society.
