The article emphasizes the expediency of using national and ethnic media texts in the educational process intended to expand the linguistic knowledge of engineering students and acquire extra-linguistic knowledge about national and ethnic media. The authors propose an interactive technology for working with texts of foreign language national and ethnic media culture, contributing to the formation of foreign language national and ethnic media competence. An attempt has been made to determine the practical value of using national and ethnic media texts in the educational process in a multidisciplinary university. Its content is isomorphic to the types of upcoming professional activity, which, in turn, can contribute to the development of engineering students both the skills of practical knowledge of a foreign language and the skills of independent acquisition and use of new knowledge and skills in practice using ICT tools.
